Join us in celebrating Earth's Day by supporting our project to assist local communities in Yacopí, Cundinamarca, Colombia, in tackling the challenges of increasing deforestation and pollution in the Rio Negro. Over the past two decades, this tropical forest region has lost a significant number of trees, impacting vital ecosystems and the water supply for nearby communities.
Our project promotes sustainable land development and soil use practices to prevent further deforestation and river degradation. We collaborate with local communities to highlight the importance of preserving native species and demonstrate the benefits of implementing agroforestry techniques. This includes planting native trees alongside productive species like cacao and banana trees, as well as sustainable cattle farming practices.
This week, we're hosting a tree-planting event in Yacopí, where we invite volunteers and enthusiastic individuals to join us in planting native trees. You can also contribute by donating $3 per tree, supporting our reforestation efforts in the Taran River watershed. As a token of our gratitude, we'll send you a picture of the trees you helped plant, with a tag bearing your name. Follow along as we track the progress of our tree-planting journey throughout the year!
